Interviewing Coach Roberson

We interviewed Coach Roberson, a coach of the Licking Heights Football team. It was November 13, 2025, a Thursday. We walked down to the gym and Coach Roberson was teaching a tournament of badminton. After his many explanations, we went to the wrestling room to conduct the interview in a peaceful silence. First, we asked what time of the year was and he responded with summer, as he likes the hotter months and a break from teaching. Then, we asked what got him into coaching . He said that after he retired from playing, he wanted to get into football via coaching. Afterwards, we asked a thinker “How was it being a coach for Heights after this season?”. He responded that we had some stars, and that next season, we will have a better record than 2-8. But, we still had a looming question in our developing minds: Why leave Desaels, an already great football program, and go to Heights? Roberson said that after teaching with Heights, he’d have to drive an hour everyday to Desaels, making all the other coaches and players wait up to 40 minutes before starting practice. After some time, he knew it wasn't making the players better, and decided to fully commit to Heights.
